some lfr files on SD card have lfp with them, many not

Can someone explain this to me? The IMGxyz.lfp files are under 500 kB. What are they for when I have the IMGxyz.lfr at 54 MB? And if they have a purpose, why then do only few IMG... have both file types? I don't remember having done anything I could relate to this. The manual says nothing. In Desktop the lfp seem to "show" as question marks, not pictures. Nothing happens when I double click on them, expect the window gets dark. BTW, the content of the SD card came right out of the Illum.
