New firmware is out that allows manual controls on the Lytro units... Good Job !!!

Yes, the added control over your pictures is great! I still have to find the time to really play with it, though...

I am going to leave my Lytro unit in full manual mode.... much easier to use... better results.

I tried to find where to download the new software. However, I did not find from where (I could download the previous version some time ago from the Lytro site but do not find a place for downloads on the Lytro site anymore).

When you connect the camera with your desk top software, make sure you are connected to the internet... the desk top software will up load the latest firmware/software .

You also need at least 40 % of battery charge. Since the rollout is usually gradual, it may take a few hours/days after the announcement until your camera is in the front of the update queue. details here
