Problems with Focus Post Viewing

I notice that on some lytro photos taken with microscope objective that the focus is off, one clicks on an area and the picture goes out of focus instead of in focus...

I've tried to take pictures through various lens systems (transmission microscope, dissector microscope, spotting scope), and usually got the same artefacts. I believe the software is having trouble finding matching light rays in pictures with heavy vignetting.

I hope the artifacts shown is being address by your product development team at Lytro... the feather in this case there is no vignetting. There is also a diagonal stripping effects that is not that desirable. Granted the camera is still in the development stage as the application is an extreme. I am pushing this camera beyond its original design like I said I would do.... I have a mechanical shutter release and a tripod mount on this camera mounted on a double arm copy stand, one to hold the camera and one to hold the auxiliary optics in place... the specimen stage has micro movement control in the z axis.
